Workshops - upcoming

Ottawa has a growing richness in telling, in part because it has reached out to talented Tellers from all over. The Tellers have led by example and taught those who were interested. Workshops are an integral part of the history of the Ottawa Storytellers. In true form, a series of workshops will be available in November.

During the Storytelling for Children weekend "away" Teller Kevin MacKenzie will be leading three workshops. From Regina, Kevin has performed and provided workshops in Brazil, Great Britain, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, and the USA.

  • Nov 7: Fingerplay Bootcamp
  • Nov 7: Tell it! (Oral Storytelling to Young Children)
  • Nov 8: The Dark Kingdom (a seminar to stretch your abilities as a Storyteller)

Over the next two weeks, there will be two more workshop opportunities, led by Ottawa StoryTellers.

Skill Building Workshop originally scheduled for Nov 14, is being rescheduled.

Nov 21: Introduction to Storytelling
Ah the romance and the magic of a story told on a cold winter night, while a fire crackles or the Christmas tree glows. This beginner's workshop helps the individual move from being a listener, to telling tales of all sorts to friends and family.
