a passion for writing songs and a suspicious disposition.

August 8 the blu collars
In its current duo formation, the blu collars proudly hold
up their small city working class roots as the most significant
influence on their musical style, thus the name of the band.
Formed in early 2002, the blu collars are; Susan Odle - lead
vocals/rhythm guitar/percussion and Mike Abbott - backing
vocals/lead guitar. Mike takes over lead vocals on a number
of songs. This proudly Canadian duo's blue-collar roots are
clearly evidenced in the raw original music that they write
as well as the artists and songs that they interpret. Influences
fall equally between folk rockers such as Steve Earle and
the Indigo Girls to punk/alternative rockers such as The Clash
and Concrete Blonde. Their music is filled with vivid guitar
arrangements, strong vocals and lyrical content that is accessible
and relevant to everyone on some level.
