February 9 Jack Lavoie:

True to the classic story, Jack first fell into music with his brother as a teenager when they pooled their resources and shared a single guitar. 2003/2004, brought many new adventures for Jack as he showcased at the Canada Music Week; his song "Reason" garnered him an honorable mention award in the international John Lennon Songwriting Contest and he won over the hearts of fans as they chose him for the people's choice award at "Les Decouvertes de la Chanson de Magog". In 2005 Jack went back to the writing block, where he finished writing and recording his second album. Released in July 2006, La Pura Vida ,produced two Billboard World Song Contest acclaimed songs in "A Fine Summers Day" and "The Simple Things" .

February 16 Shawna Caspi / Angie Karp

Strangely enough both Shawna and Angie worked here in their younger years. Then they took to the books and got their university degrees, one here in Ottawa, the other in Toronto. Each has released recordings and made music a central part of their lives.

Shawna studied music in Toronto. Then worked for the organisation that organised the annual JUNOs. Shawna has always been a source of information for me about up and coming performers.

Angie comes from a very artistic family, including music and theatre. She has been a part of a number of groups, including The Vanity Press.
