Live Performance:
The presentation blends the traditional art of oral storytelling
with original music and lyrics.
The story was researched and shaped by Ruth Stewart-Verger, the
original songs and tunes crafted by Charlie Sohmer. Chris MacLean
adds her wonderful voice. The performance is 90 minutes and is usually,
though not always, performed with an intermission. There are no
sets, no costumes, nothing to distract the listeners from the pictures
they create in their own imaginations.
History comes to life. The characters of history become familiar
figures who act and react just like a neighbour, or a cousin!
Technical requirements are simple:
For the Trio: Three vocal microphones and a patch cord,
or a fourth microphone, for the guitar. In large rooms, an extra
microphone is needed for the banjo.
For the Duo: Two vocal microphones and a patch cord, or
a third microphone for the instrument.
The fee:
For the Trio: $550
If we are performing twice in one day at the same location, $900.00
For the Duo: $400.00
If we are performing twice in one day at the same location, $700.00.
