Open
Stage Compilation #1
Up
to 12 performers have come to sing on the Open Stage
each Wednesday night since 1982. Many a magical moment
has slipped into memory, not hard drive but the rather
more ephemeral gray matter. We decided to begin saving
those moments. Over a three month period those performers
who signed onto the project were recorded each time
they went onto the stage. The 15 pieces on this CD were
chosen from hundreds representing a spectrum of known
and new voices, and instrumentalists. Recorded onto
analog tape on a TEAC 144 portastudio, then mixed down
onto a two track DAT for CD.
List
of tracks (total time: 52:30):
- "Down
In The Dust", Jay Willis, (3:33).
- "Drawing
Down The Moon" (intro: "Dark Island"),

Celtic
Jam Live
The
Celtic Jam is really a Session that has been ongoing
since 1985 every Monday night at Rasputin's Folk Cafe.
For one summer in 2000 we suspended a pressure zone
microphone over the group and recorded everything. The
musicians soon forgot about the microphone, and this
is the result, 16 Sets of mostly traditional tunes.
An
hour of instrumental Celtic music.
