StoryTelling is at its heart an oral tradtion that
has been handed down by all cultures. It can be education,
the handing down of wisdom, lineage, tradition. It
can be entertainment, moving listeners to laughter,
quiet, and tears.
It can be as simple as one teller using just the
voice to bring the audience to a place drawn from
one's imagination. But it is the audience that sets
flesh to the framework that is wrought by the teller's
words.
Imagine one person on stage. No props, no sets, just
the spoken word. Simplicity, but not simple.
